You are Beautiful…..(pass it on)

You are Beautiful…..(pass it on)

You are Beautiful…..(pass it on)
Who knew a little card in my Ipsy bag would inspire some writing?

My heart swelled as I helped my eight year old daughter, Tay, get dolled up for her first Princess Dance at school (aka Daddy/daughter dance). When I finished my masterpiece, she was so beautiful, I couldn’t stop staring at her. She must have agreed, because I caught her checking herself out in the mirror a few times, and I later found a selfie on my phone.

The truth is, she is beautiful when she’s not dolled up. So are you.

If you’re anything like me, you grew up with many insecurities. I had a lot of “Toos”. My feet were too big (still are!), I was too skinny here and too fat there, my teeth were too crowded, my lips were too thin……see? Too many Toos. You probably have some Toos, too.

Because of my Toos, I sought security in dangerous places. Maybe you’ve done that? Maybe you are doing that now. It was much later that I learned that my security should only be found in God.

I have a gift for you today. It’s a mirror. Look in this mirror and tell yourself that you are beautiful. Don’t you dare think about those Toos! This is a special mirror that erases all Toos. Do you see your beauty? God does!

If you are not a believer in God, please don’t stop reading. If you are a believer, don’t stop reading. YOU are beautiful. This world does an awesome job of revealing our Toos. This is why we need to take a moment to tell each other that we are beautiful. I challenge you to sincerely compliment a fellow woman today. Compliment her beautiful eyes, her radiant smile, and her warm heart.

He loves you with an everlasting love and he drew you with unfailing kindness (Jeremiah 31:3). You are his handiwork (Ephesians 2:10) and NOTHING in ALL of creation, can separate you from His love (Romans 9:39).

Take the time to read those verses. Write this on a notecard and tape it to your mirror:

He loves me with an everlasting love. He drew me with unfailing kindness. I am His handiwork. Nothing can separate me from His love.

Whether or not you believe, He LOVES you. Whether or not you believe, YOU are beautiful. Pass it on.

I am a woman who has experienced the loss of a child, something no one should ever have to go through. I am a woman who found peace in my heart that only Jesus Christ can bring (Isaiah 9:6). I am a woman with a passion to share this peace with you. Maybe you know Jesus. Maybe you don’t. Either way, let’s be friends. Maybe you have struggled in your life and can find comfort in simply knowing that You. Are. Not. Alone.
